Peak versus off peak times

The Floodgate offers both Peak & Off-Peak pricing. Off-Peak runs from Monday - Thursday* & Peak from Friday - Sunday*. Children are allowed before 7 pm on a Sunday. Our booking system will automatically display available slots based on your choice. *Please note; peak days and pricing are extended during holiday seasons such as December.

Do you serve food?

'Yes, we do! Try the best-loaded hotdogs & nachos in town. From chili to cheese and everything in between. We will have you salivating at the door. Carnivores, Omnivores & Herbivores all catered for. Gluten-free options are also available'.

I am unwell with Covid-19 like symptoms, what should I do ?

We advise you not to attend The Floodgate if you are displaying Covid-19 symptoms. Members of your group who are well and have not been in recent contact with you can still attend the booking. If this is not possible please contact the venue as soon as possible to reschedule. Please note refunds are not provided. More information on Covid-19 can be found at;

Special Hours may apply on Bank Holidays, opening hours are subject to change. Please check with the venue if you are unsure.

How many people can book?

We have 4 indoor & 2 outdoor cages with a limit of up to 4 people per 30 minutes.
We recommend booking 1 hour or more for groups of 5+.
We have 3 indoor & 3 outdoor curling lanes with a limit of 4 people per 30 minutes.
We recommend booking 1 hour or more for groups of 5+.
We send parties around the Pit Pat Table Golf Course in groups of 6.

Do I need to pre book The Yard?

We recommend that you book your games and/or a table via our booking system, our yard is open to all and you do not have to play games to come and eat, drink or spectate. Walk ins are also welcome dependant on availability. The Yard features both covered shipping container style seating and standard uncovered beer garden style seating. We also have various heaters and shaded areas for those chilly nights.

Are the games in The Yard weather dependent?

Curl Club in The Yard is a fully covered, heated outdoor area and should be operational all year round. Please do take a look at the weather on the day and bring appropriate clothing.
Bleachers in The Yard is covered by a roof to keep any rain out of the cage and playing surface dry. Please note wet baseballs may have an impact on performance. Please do take a look at the weather on the day and bring appropriate clothing.

Can i move booking from indoor to outdoor (or visa versa)?

We will always try to accommodate requests, however this will be at the discretion of the venue based on availability and circumstances. We recommend checking the weather and bringing appropriate clothing for your chosen activity.

Can I book on my own?

There is no minimum amount of persons required to be able to play.

Can I book for a group?

If you are interested in a group booking and you would like to learn more about our packages, either drop us an email and or complete a 'Contact Us' form.

How long do we get in the batting cages?

Cages can be booked in 30 & 60-minute slots (and multiples thereof) During that time you can play as many games as you can, balls are pitched in sets of up to 15.
Players will have to retrieve their own balls and reload the machine to restart the next game. Important note; always turn off the pitching machine while collecting and reloading. Scores can be recorded on the boards provided.

How long do we get on the curling lanes?

Lanes can be booked in 30 & 60-minute slots (and multiples thereof) During that time you can play as many games as you can. Each player/team has 4 curling stones to curl.
Players will have to retrieve their own curls to restart the next game. Scores can be recorded on the boards provided.

How long does a round of Pit Pat table golf take?

Player should allow 45 minutes to an hour though this may increase during peak times.

Are Children allowed?

Under 18s are welcome on Sunday only from open until 7pm and some school holiday weekdays (excluding Friday & Saturday).
We recommend that children must be at least 8 years old to use our activities. Younger children are more than welcome to spectate. We can also do private bookings for kids so, if you're interested in booking a party with us, please either drop us an email at or fill in the "Contact Us" form.

Do I really have to book online?

We welcome walk-ins any day but please bear in mind that the cages or lanes may not be available straight away, or even at all. If you do not fancy booking in advance and would like to come check us out first, please do so, we have a great range of drinks on offer and an awesome setting!
We’ll show you around and you’ll get to see how it all works.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We advise wearing suitable clothing and footwear, ideally trainers or flat soled shoes and comfortable clothing.
If you’re lucky enough to look under 18 then we advise you to bring your ID with you, we do operate a challenge 25 policy when purchasing alcohol.
You’ll also need the lead booker's name upon arrival to confirm your booking.

Can I bring my own Bat, Helmet?

You don't need to as we have a range of bats and helmets but, if you really want to, you need to be happy leaving your equipment behind the bar when you're not using it.

Can I change my ticket date or time?

We will always try where we can to reschedule your booking when we are given a minimum of 48 hours notice. Please contact the team at or call 01212272255 to discuss. Please note we do not offer refunds.

What time do I need to arrive?

Guest must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your allocated slot to allow time for check in, wrist bands, safety briefing etc (and to grab some food and drinks of course). This is important to ensure you enjoy your full allocated time slot.

What happens if I'm late?

If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the specified time of arrival to the venue, then your booking will be cancelled, please note bookings are non refundable.
We advise if you are running late to contact us to see if we can move your time slot.
Management reserves the right to cancel the booking due to late arrivals

Do you take card payments at the venue?

We accept both cash and credit/debit cards. Visa, MasterCard & American Express are all welcomed.

Is there anywhere to park?

On street parking is available in the area or we are a short walk away from Custard Factory Car parks

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we sell gift cards on our website (please see link on home page). Please note gift cards can only be redeemed against games and drinks in store and via email/phone (not online). Our food vendors operate independently.
